A new coffee shop has opened south of downtown Indianapolis. Helm Coffee Co., near Garfield Park on Shelby Street, has a cozy vibe and specialty coffee.

Helm Coffee is an LGBTQ- and women-owned coffee roaster. They import their coffee beans from around the world, including Ethiopia, Colombia and Guatemala. In addition to their regular specialty blends, they also offer unique seasonal flavors and fresh pastries.

The owners are also passionate about the environment and sustainability. Helm Coffee has partnered with Amberson Coffee to reduce landfill waste by offering jars instead of paper to-go cups. You can bring a jar back to either location and get it refilled.

Open Thursday through Sunday, it’s a great place to study and a 10-minute drive from campus. Check it out:
