See what’s new on campus

Campus was busy over the summer with renovations and offices moving locations. Here are some of the new things you’ll find this fall.

New restaurant in Campus Center

Authentic Indian cuisine is coming soon to the Campus Center. Local restaurant Aroma features Indian street food classics like kebabs and curry. Their main location in Fountain Square was named one of the 30 Best Restaurants in Indianapolis by Indy Monthly in 2021.

Try it for yourself in the Student Choice space between Pizza Hut and Chick-fil-A when it opens this fall.

New study space

The main-floor lobbies of the Health Sciences and Dunlap buildings have been renovated and updated to become a large informal learning space with new furniture and lighting, making it a great place to study. The Health Sciences Building also has space for the Fairbanks School of Public Health, School of Health & Human Sciences, Physician Assistant Studies program, Campus Facility Services, Capital Planning and Facilities, and Environmental Health and Safety.

Offices relocating

Over the summer, the IU Police Department at IUPUI packed up and moved from its location at Ball Hall to the Ott building at 992 Indiana Ave.

CAPS has also moved down Indiana Avenue from its location near the Madame Walker Theater to second-floor offices in Lockefield Village.

If you are looking for mental health services, you can call the CAPS front desk at 317-274-2548 or email capsindy@iupui.edu to get started. The front desk will send a paperwork link via email for you to complete electronically, and then staff can set up an initial consultation with a counselor via zoom or an in-person at the new CAPS location.

In the initial consultation, the counselor will conduct a brief assessment and connect you with a treatment recommendation that can include group therapy, other campus resources, individual counseling, psychiatry or a community provider. The initial consultation appointment is free. Several other services at CAPS are also free, and others have a minimal cost.
