New IU Indianapolis Staff Council term begins in July

The new IU Indianapolis Staff Council Executive Committee term is from July 2024 to June 2026. Members represent a variety of staff roles from different schools and units, including University Library, School of Medicine, Public Safety, UITS and more.

There are 12 people on the committee:

  • Rachel Molina is the full-time staff council coordinator.
  • Heather Staggs, the council president, is an HR business partner with the School of Medicine.
  • Tricia Edwards, the council first vice president, is chief diversity officer for IU Public Safety and director for the IUPD Dispatch Communications Center.
  • Beth Chaisson, the council second vice president, is a financial administration coordinator with the School of Medicine.
  • Kelly Zimmerman, the council corresponding secretary, is an information security engineer for the Research Security Office.
  • Connie Anoskey, a council member-at-large, is a program management leader with the School of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics.
  • Thora Berndt, a council member-at-large, is a contracts and grants specialist with the School of Medicine’s Department of Urology.
  • Mindy Cooper, a council member-at-large, is a reference coordinator with University Library.
  • LaVerne Johnson, a council member-at-large, is an alumni relations consultant with the School of Education.
  • Ryan Schafer, a council member-at-large, is a GIS applications developer with Capital Planning.
  • Yolanda Taylor, a council member-at-large, is an HR business partner with Human Resources supporting finance and administration.
  • Alicia Gahimer, the council parliamentarian, is a program manager with IU Research.

The next Staff Council meeting will be held Aug. 21, in Room 309 of the Campus Center and also on Zoom. Meetings take place from 2 to 4 p.m. generally on the third Wednesday of the month. All staff are encouraged to attend.
