Before Regatta there was Circle City Circuit

Decades before the inaugural IUPUI Regatta, the campus community participated in a different event centered on a canoe competition and raft race.

Circle City Circuit was first held in April 1977, according to IUPUI Special Collections and Archives. A race in Eagle Creek Park was just one part of the weeklong festival. The event continued for several more years.
